Debt recovery and collections is never easy. But thanks to a company called F.H. Cann & Associates, it’s easier now than it has been previously.
F.H. Cann began in 1999 in Massachusetts and has since become a leader in the debt collection industry. At the time of writing this, it is still based in Massachusetts and has grew into a larger organization with a few hundred employees currently.
This “family” feeling was one of the qualities that drew me in initially. I had been looking for a debt collection service for the small apartment complex I manage, and given the sensitivity that often accompanies debt collection in housing, I knew I didn’t want the cold, impersonal, feeling that many debt collection services have today. Although I, of course, wanted a service that would deliver results and ensure debts are repaid, I did not want that to come at the expense of the well-being of my former tenants.
F.H. Cann’s website stated their utilities’ collections department, which was the specific area I needed help in, would “vastly improve recoveries while maintaining a positive relationship with [my] customers.” Well, that sounded like exactly what I needed, so I gave them a call.
The rep I spoke with initially was very helpful and thorough. She asked so many questions to better understand my needs that by the time I hung up the phone, even I had learned some new things about what I needed!
After this phone call, I did some more research on the company including checking them out on Facebook. I wanted the fullest possible understanding of what they valued, because I wanted to ensure their values and mine were truly in alignment.
And that brings me to another thing that sets F.H. Cann apart from other companies in the debt collection landscape: their values. The most important things to all F.H. Cann employees, from the executive team to the call center employees to everyone in between, are the following (3) areas which is the core of my business as well.
1. Employee engagement. It makes sense why the rep I spoke with was so happy and eager to do right by me and by her employer. F.H. Cann has a great company culture and treats its employees excellently, leading to engaged employees who do their best to serve.
2. Customer-centric. F.H. Cann doesn’t take a “one size fits all” approach to the services they offer. Rather, they worked one-on-one with me to devise processes and plans that fit MY individual needs and addressed all of my concerns.
3. Compliance and quality. They go to great lengths to ensure all plans, procedures, and processes comply with federal, state, and local laws. Collections can sometimes be a hot-button issue legally, but I feel safe entrusting that side of my business to them.
After this experience, I will never go with another debt collection company, nor will I recommend another company to my friends and associates. F.H. Cann delivered the personalized and, perhaps more importantly, the personable results I wanted and far exceeded my expectations.
